📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Survey Technician I Position is a field position. The Survey Tech is responsible for assisting the Land Surveyor Party Chief in performing various field surveys including boundary, topographic, control and construction surveys.
Location: Primarily San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara CountyPosition available: May 2024Pay: Full Time $25-36/hour depending on experience (prevailing wage at current rate)If interested, please e-mail resume to "info@mbslandsurveys.com"
Responsibilities• Ability to write clearly• Skilled in search for property monuments, including wood stakes, rebar, pipe and nails under pavement.• Ability to assist Party chief in setting up GPS equipment or total station equipment.• Basic knowledge of field procedures (traversing and side shots)• Basic knowledge construction staking: cuts, fills & offsets• Good communication skills with employees, clients, contractors and public agencies.
Job Duties:• Under direct supervision. Setting property corners, or construction stakes and clearly marking the lath (stake).• Assist party chief in the performance of field surveys for boundary, control or topographic surveys.
Qualifications• High School diploma• College course work in algebra, geometry and trigonometry (preferred)• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency highly desired, but not required.
