Preweigh Technician I-3rd Shift

Position Overview

Under general supervision, operate batch processing equipment with a manufacturing recipe management system, batch cards, recipe sheets, SOPs, and standard work instructions. The nature of the work is team-based and requires a total task approach. The incumbent will learn and perform assigned tasks depending on the manufacturing technology utilized across our sites. This role will contribute to achieving company initiatives to meet our safety, quality, process reliability, customer service, cost, and innovation goals. Work safely and environmentally responsible while operating, monitoring, and controlling equipment, systems, and processes associated with the Dry blending and pre-weighing.

Responsibilities

Pull and stage a variety of raw materials for the production team according to batch card specifications/process instructionsCoordinate between production and warehouse teams daily concerning any raw material variancesReturn remaining raw materials after Preweigh processes are complete according to warehouse specificationsFollow all instructions on production cards and daily scheduleKeep accurate production records and accurate reporting in SAP and report information dailyInspect raw materials, in-process, and finished goods for proper weight, color, overall appearance, texture, labeling, packaging, and correct/report defectsCoordinate with supervisors daily concerning any scheduling variances and process improvementsPerform proper sanitation, housekeeping, and safety proceduresHelp maintain equipment, reporting, and/or resolving machinery breakdowns or problemsOperate Fork Truck in a safe mannerParticipate in all team/department meetingsActively participate in Continuous Improvement initiativesOther duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Ability to operate a forklift and other mechanical equipment such as pumps, scales and dumpstersAbility to perform foundational math equationsAbility to lift to 50 lbs.High school degree or equivalent andBasic computer knowledge in the form of data entry & proficiency in RF scanningAbility to work in a dusty environment with strong odors and high noise/decibel levelsAbility to work in an environment with frequent exposure to chemicals and cleaning agentsAbility to work in warm/hot environments or warehouse conditionsAdaptable to work overtime on short notice and weekendsAbility to work in a team environmentAttention to detail is a mustPAPR/ Respirator use required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in food manufacturingExposure to TPM or lean manufacturing principles3 years in a manufacturing environment preferred
