LEAD WORKER 6:00 am

INTRODUCTION

Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs those cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications and assists in the monitoring of the custodial crews workThis position is set aside for people with differing abilities. Proof of disability is required prior to interviewThis position is located in Baltimore, MDThe core working hours are 6:00 am - 3:00pm, Monday through FridayThe hourly wage is $18.01This position requires that the employee must successfully complete criminal history information background check and drug screening and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

Sweeps and mops hallways, stairs and officesEmpties tenants' waste baskets and dispose the trash in prescribed mannerDusts horizontal surfacesClean bathroomsWaxes and buffs floors with prescribed buffersCleans glass and windowsWashes walls and other vertical surfacesPerforms snow removal if required by contract specificationsPolishes kick panels, door knobs and other designated fixturesStrips and waxes floorsVacuum rugsMixes cleaning solutionsMaintains issued equipmentNotifies supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasksSupervises activities of assigned workers on a temporary basis while performing own workAssumes responsibility of crew during the absence of the foremanPerforms all other duties assigned by Custodial Foreman

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

The Lead Worker, Custodial supervises Custodial Workers 50% of their shift and in the absence of the Custodial Foreman.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The incumbent is supervised by the Custodial Foreman.

Physical Qualifications

The incumbent must be able to stand or walk 90% of the work time; and sit 10%He/she must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipmentHe/she must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reachThese requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches and cornersHe/she must be able to communicate with supervisors and co workersMust good vision, with depth perception and ability to distinguish colors for safety reasons.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalentOne (1) year experience in custodial work requiredSome supervisory experience preferredPrior experience with individuals with differing abilities preferredMust be able to pass security clearance
