About The Opportunity

Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to the customer base

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible to make arrangements for pickup by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructionsReport defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisorResponsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all timesMaintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulationsResponsible for coordination of product completion and shipments and shipments on a timely basisResponsible to maintain a professional communication level via email and phoneMaintain a professional level with the client

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent DesiredHigh School Diploma/GED and/or one or more years of experience in warehouse production

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple mathAbility to become familiar with and be able to interpret packing slips, enter correct information into the computer, and acknowledge receipt of goods into the purchase orderAbility to understand and use all applicable aspects of WMSAbility to work with plant management for required resultsMust be familiar with the most common material handling equipmentAbility to work in a team environmentMicrosoft Office,Willing to work overtime and/or weekends as requested by Shipping/Receiving Manager

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting with time also spent in an office settingFrequent walking and standing requiredOccasional lifting up to 25 lbs.Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season
