Position Summary
The primary job function is to lead and manage software engineering staff for implementing Mercury Technical Products Roadmap for Customer and Agency Experience.
Essential Job Functions
Partner with Technical Product Managers, Designers, other Engineering Leaders, Business and Vendors to help define Strategic Technical Product Roadmap for the Customer and Agency Experience Area.Implement Mercury Technical Products prioritized Roadmap for Customer and Agency Experience efficiently. Work with other Leaders to identify and resolve impediments effectively and expeditiously. Partner closely with a team of product managers, engineers, designers, technical product analysts to deliver a high-quality digital experience.Build a configurable, persona based, best in class user experience for supporting Customers and Agents.Incorporate design and software development best practices in order to promote high quality and faster time to market.Ensure that all Customer and Agency Experience Applications are highly responsive, secure, reliable and easy to use.Collaborate with other Engineering Leaders to Identify opportunities for improving Application Systems as well as Engineering practices and help implement the same.Build and manage a talented, diverse, inclusive team of high performing engineers.
Education
BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science/ Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and work experienceA Masters degree and/or similar experience with Software Development is strongly preferred.
Experience
15+ years' experience in developing software.10+ years' experience in Senior technical leadership role.5+ years hands-on experience in leading implementation of consumer facing digital experience.
Knowledge And Skills
Experience in developing Engineering Roadmaps, estimating effort and prioritizing work.Experience in leading Agile Engineering teams to design, implement and support web and mobile application that are highly reliable, responsive and easy to use.Experience in integrating products and platforms across Middleware, Database and Infrastructure technologiesHands-on experience designing and developing fullstack web and mobile application using technologies like HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Angular, React, Spring Boot etc.Experience in leveraging development quality best practices like automated code analysis, code reviews, unit test automation etc. in order to ensure high quality of code developed. Experience in using CI/CD pipelines to improve cycle time.Ability to identify opportunities for improving Application Systems as well as Engineering practices.Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with both business and technical stakeholders and influence other leaders to identify and resolve impediments effectively and expeditiouslyProven track record of building and managing high performing engineering teams.Ability to navigate through ambiguity and drive strategic direction.Strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
