Description

Essential Functions

Supports the Director and supervisors in communicating and promoting a strong commitment to the philosophy and mission of House of Mercy in the operation of all programs. Serves as principal liaison between House of Mercy and the accrediting body Council on Accreditation. Provides leadership and support to House of Mercy’s accreditation and compliance initiatives/activities with emphasis on the facility’s Risk Prevention and Management program and Performance Quality Improvement initiative. Provides leadership, vision and oversight to staff Manages facility budget for the assigned systems areas; provides projections to the Director; makes recommendations/takes action necessary to control costs. Works with House of Mercy Senior Manager, Mercy Finance Business Partner and auditors to complete reports and/or respond to inquiries. Oversees facility computer network; coordinates installations, upgrades, purchases, and other modifications to ensure systems and specifications meet user needs. Oversees volunteer services; conducts need assessments, writes job descriptions, recruits, interviews, screens, recommends placement, and plans recognition activities. Assists the Director in oversight of contract services (e.g. security, landlord/tenant, food

service, etc.); acts as liaison between House of Mercy and other parties to facilitate communication, meet service needs, and resolve problems.

Represents House of Mercy to external individuals or groups to describe facility and programs; presents, listens, and responds effectively. Assists in the compilation of various reports; writes, edits, and prepares documents for submission. Maintains awareness of, and remains current on applicable laws, regulations and licensing requirements as they relate to the facility and business operations; recognizes the implications/changes may have to the organization and assumes accountability for recommending/taking action to assure compliance. Seeks opportunities to work collaboratively with other local and statewide organizations; makes recommendations to maximize any opportunities to extend the high quality continuum of care for clients of the House of Mercy. Maintains the general House of Mercy policy and procedure manual, job descriptions, and other administrative documents in consultation with the Director and other appropriate staff. Participates in public relations and media efforts to promote the House of Mercy and its programs. Attends meetings and training sessions as required.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

High School Diploma or GED required. Master’s degree from an accredited program, required. Prior supervisory/management experience is preferred. Valid Driver’s/Chauffeurs License required, must meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law. Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within thirty (30) days of employment.
