Description

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

East Tower, 4th Floor

This dedicated unit consists of 62 beds in 44 private patient rooms and is located in the East Tower. Credentialed as a Level III NICU, practicing highly technical, state-of-the-art care for high-risk premature babies and full-term newborns in need of specialized care. Nurses work with neonatologists, cardiologists, surgeons and other medical specialties as a team approach to care and provide the best care for infants.

Essential Functions

As an RN with us, you will provide individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages. Utilizing a team approach, you will delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge. Expectations:Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.Continues to evaluate assigned patients and provides ongoing treatment.Anticipates, identifies, and responds to the educational and emotional needs of patients and families.Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury, etc.).Serves in a charge/leadership role based on skill and unit needs. Provides orientation/education for staff, students, and other hospital and community organizations as requested
