Overview
Merrick & Company is looking for a part-time Infrastructure Engineering Coordinator (IEC) within our Water Team to improve the efficient delivery of projects to Merrickβs clients in the water infrastructure industry. The position is based in our San Antonio, TX office. The IEC facilitates the completion of complex engineering projects by establishing efficient systems to collect, sort, analyze, and report critical project information. The IEC will work closely with Project Managers to execute projects that meet the goals of our clients. The IEC will aid in brand-building by spearheading marketing efforts specific to individual projects and clients. The IEC routinely consults with project managers, construction administrators, marketing professionals, project controls professionals, and senior management to align the strategic direction of the business unit.
Typical wage range for this position is $28.00 to $37.00/hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Qualifications
Three (3) to ten (10) yearsβ experience in the field of administrative and database derived communications and/or project management. Experience in the engineering field is preferred.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly the latest versions of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with project management software and ArcGIS is preferred.Knowledge of Adobe and/or Bluebeam is preferred, as is the ability to learn new software.Candidate must have strong problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills.Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrickβs insurance carrier.
Responsibilities
The IEC is responsible for facilitating the efficient completion of complex engineering projects in the sector of water infrastructure at our San Antonio, TX office. The IEC helps guide the urgency and direction of the Merrick Water Team and is integral to project delivery teams. The IEC works closely with Project Managers and corporate support service representatives (IT, Finance, HR, and Marketing) as needed to drive project workflow completion.The IEC will leverage existing systems to inventory, track, and transparently report critical project information to key project stakeholders and will create new systems to drive workflows more efficiently.The IEC collects and organizes existing data sources to create reports and tools that will be utilized by the project design team, project managers, senior management, corporate support services, and other critical stakeholders to aid in decision-making. The IEC analyzes complex project-specific data and leverages existing programs to improve or enhance the beneficial use of the data including project scheduling, financial tracking, and quality control. The IEC performs construction administration functions including reviewing pay applications, processing submittals/requests for information (RFIs), and monitoring contractor compliance with state and federal funding requirements. The IEC will be the project team lead for marketing efforts, including developing materials used in industry conferences, proposal development, project summaries, marketing collateral, and other business development deliverables. For this effort, the IEC will work in partnership with corporate marketing support services.The IEC will maintain project records, files, statistical data, action items, time and attendance records, and meeting minutes.Key competencies include the ability to manage complexity, drive successful outcomes, communicate effectively, provide customer focus, and adapt to varying situations to optimize work processes. Candidates with strong interpersonal savvy, nimble learning, financial acumen, and resourcefulness skills are desired.Responsible for clear written and verbal communication and integrating accurate edits into engineering reports and specifications as well as quality checking for typographical and grammatical correctness.Other responsibilities will include administrative tasks including document QAQC, electronic filing, meeting planning, scheduling tasks, and general office support.
