📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a Web Strategy Manager, you will be the product owner of the customer and community focused websites and manage the end-to-end project planning and implementation process for digital strategy initiatives for the Airports Authority.

Web Strategy Manager

Works under the general supervision of the Integrated Marketing and Digital Strategy Director.

Serves in the Marketing and Concessions Department in the Office of revenue at the Headquarters Office.

Guides digital strategy across various digital touchpoints and stakeholders, steer the Airport Authority’s digital narrative, and drive highly effective digital revenue campaigns. Leads the website platform training program, coordination of content across digital mediums and provides leadership to maintain the public facing website for the Airports Authority. Initiates digital projects and leads effective web strategies. Analyzes experience data, reports on planned and current strategies. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In collaboration with Airports Authority staff, manages project planning phases from discovery to implementation, including determining project timelines and resources.

Manages the web development backlog in collaboration with the information technology department to provide technical review, internal and external feedback, and planning.

Oversees and maintains the Airports Authority’s primary communication channel, consisting of four websites, ensuring their functionality, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals.

Leads and facilitates three working groups annually, fostering collaboration among team members and stakeholders to address strategic priorities, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement in website operations and performance.

Oversees revenue-generating contracts with external partners such as Ticketmaster, Trip Advisor, etc., ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, maximizing revenue potential, and exploring opportunities for partnership expansion or optimization.

Provides guidance and support to a team of 115 web editors, including training programs, to uphold consistent standards and best practices in content management across four websites.

Analyzes customer and user data to provide web optimization recommendations, digital revenue trends and insights to increase ROI.

Researches and implements best practices for airports websites to provide overall UX/UI improvements.

Builds on Next Generation Website planning, scope of work, RFP, and many other elements to ensure a best-in-class approach.

Reviews project requests for new pages, categories, additions, or changes to ensure best practices and adherence to the web governance process.

Creates conceptual website content designs. Develops productions schedules for creating, editing, and reviewing to ensure that all deadlines are met.

Works with project teams, technical staff, agencies, and others to translate user requirements into system, equipment and/or program specifications.

Collaborates with Office of Technology staff to troubleshoot errors, format CSS and media rich pages.

Maintains digital calendar and updates web content across various platforms (applications, web pages, hyperlinks, images, etc.). Ensures content meets the Airports Authority branding guidelines.

Manages annual website audit; ensures content is accurate and meets industry best practices.

Leads the execution of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies to increase organic visibility and improve search engine rankings.

Provides technical training to current and newly on-boarded Airports Authority staff on web content management system (CMS).

Provides monthly and ad hoc reports requested by management and other Airports Authority staff.

Identifies new web revenue opportunities across various stakeholder groups.

Manage online e-commerce store products in collaboration with the revenue organization and I.T.

Collaborates with stakeholders to optimize and integrate websites with social media, mobile applications, and customer relationship management systems to drive customer retention and increase revenue.

Translates API requirements to IT for revenue/customer service, monitors the development process for revenue and leads the quality assurance sessions for the customer service group.

Serves as Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) for digital revenue project contracts.

Manages vendor relationships for websites and analytics access between stakeholder groups.

Manages Web Content Coordinator role.

Performs other functions, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Four years of progressively responsible experience in a web manager or equivalent role for a business-to-consumer (B2C) company. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Included in your four years of experience must be two years of recent experience managing and developing corporate websites or leading the design, creation, editing, and production of website content using web content management systems (such as Drupal, WordPress, etc.).

Knowledge of, and ability, to create website design outlines based on varying audiences.

Knowledge of and ability to apply GDPR, W3C Web standards and other accessibility legal requirements.

Foundational understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Skilled in using project management tools such as Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Planner.

Ability to present web concepts for socialization and project planning.

Basic knowledge of SCRUM/Sprint cycles and related project management skills.

Ability to manage the home page and backend (CMS) of a large (100+ user) website.

Ability to create and edit intermediate level HTML content.

Ability to perform detailed analyses using HOTjar, Ahrefs, Google marketing Products ( Analytics, Tag Manager, AdWords).

Knowledge of supervisory principles and ability to manage the operations and programs of the unit/team.

Ability to manage and produce website content across integrated marketing team, utilizing digital marketers, graphic designers, videographers and agencies.

Ability to speak and write effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the travel, transportation, or airline industry.

Certification or formal training in UX/UI.

Experience managing API integrations and e-commerce platforms for a b2C company.

EDUCATION

A bachelor’s degree in communications, Digital Media, UX/UI, or related field.
