Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role as a Controller at Miami Children's Museum. The Controller will be responsible for assisting the CFO with financial operations of the museum, including budgeting, financial planning, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Essential FunctionsPrepare monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.Share responsibility for weekly revenue upload and reconciliation.Manage cash receipts and receivables.Update and reconcile A/R, deferred revenue and fixed asset schedules during month-end close.Monitor AP aging and prepare aging reports.Prepare bi-weekly cash forecast.Prepare admission’ and gift shop banks for next day / weekend operations. Daily recording of incoming checks and wires.Recording & processing accounts payable invoices when staff accountant is unavailable.Prepare invoices for Museum clients.Assist with all necessary functions as needed.

QualificationsSeven years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, accounts receivables, accounts payable, fixed assets, bank reconciliation, journal entries, revenue recognition, and reporting.Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance is required. Master’s degree a plus.Level 2 background qualification is required.Demonstrated proficiency in accrual accounting and US GAAP.Talented in the use of enterprise-level accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Financial Edge, etc.). Experience with Financial Edge is a plus.Intermediate knowledge of MS-Excel required (pivots, charts, database functions, financial formulas, groupings, etc.). Strong organizational and communication skills.Able to work well with colleagues throughout the organization.Non-profit accounting background preferred, but not required.
