The Hands-On Plant Controller is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the manufacturing operations. This position requires a dynamic individual who can blend strategic financial oversight with hands-on involvement in day-to-day activities. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, my client's state-of-the-art facility is at the forefront of technological advancements in healthcare.DescriptionFinancial Oversight: Manage all financial operations of the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.Cost Management: Implement rigorous cost control measures and conduct regular cost analyses to identify areas for improvement. Optimize resource allocation and reduce waste to enhance profitability.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, turnover, and obsolescence, to ensure accuracy and efficiency in stock management.Capital Investment: Evaluate and advise on capital investments, ensuring they meet ROI objectives and align with strategic goals. Manage the capital budgeting process.Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, as well as adherence to company policies and procedures. Oversee the preparation and filing of all financial reports.Operational Support: Work closely with the plant management team to develop and implement financial strategies that support operational excellence.Team Leadership: Lead and develop the plant finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.ProfileBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role within a manufacturing environment, medical device industry experience a plus.Profound knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.Strong analytical skills and experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.Demonstrated ability to work closely with operational teams and provide strategic financial insights.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
