With experience in Solar + Storage projects, they are looking to add a Director of Development (Solar + Storage) to their Development function. With the backing of a global firm, the dynamic team within the US has an opportunity for substantial growth in the coming years. Client DetailsA growing Development firm that has coverage across the US for Utility-scale, DG and C&I projects including both solar + storage. With a substantial pipeline of projects in both the early and delivery phase, our client are actively looking to grow their Development team.This role will report directly into the VP who will provide support where necessary but anticipates the successful candidate to operate with full autonomy. DescriptionThe Director of Development (Solar + Storage) will:Responsible for the planning and execution of development opportunities through completion;Manage the project pipeline and development resourcesProject development tracking and rankingIndividual project development prioritiesDivestment adequacy / timingManage a team of Developers that work across several jurisdictions and asset classesWork with Senior Management to identify and develop business opportunities to develop new PV and BESS facilities in attractive U.S. marketsCoordinate and interface with internal team and external consultants to ensure the viability of identified projects through thorough analysis and appropriate project managementResponsible for prioritization of projects, lead due diligence of projects, as appropriateLiaison between the project development and financial analysis teams to ensure that the deal structure, economic and tax assumptions are properly analyzedPrepares project budgets and assists Management in the completion budget reviewsDeliver projects on time and within the projected budgetEnsure development tracking and reporting are up-to date and adequate for project /pipeline managementPrepare regular reports for internal stakeholders and Management teamAssess and present appropriate material for important project-based decision-makingObtains supporting data including competitive intelligence on market opportunities for new projectsDevelops and maintain relationships with industry contactsClosely follows industry trends and competitor activities, including regulatory/ financial incentives, power pricing and structured financing transactionsAll other duties as assigned by the VP.Profile The Director of Development (Solar + Storage) will have:6+ years experience in the development of renewable energy, particularly solar PV and Energy storage projects, in the US.Experience in leading development teams and managing direct reportsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Environmental Science or related fieldImpressive track record and experience in development of renewable energy projectsPrevious applicable experience working in a commercial negotiation environmentAbility to manage and support multiple people and projects simultaneously with varying complexities and urgencies presented day-to-dayAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environmentStrong interpersonal skills - able to work and communicate effectively with a cross-functional internal team, vendors, consultants, various project stakeholders, authorities having legal control, utilities, state agencies etc.Job OfferThe Director of Development (Solar + Storage) will be eligible for:$180,000 - $220,000 base salary Annual bonus (30%) Comprehensive benefits packageAbility for 100% remote within the USIf you're looking for a slightly different role within the Renewables industry, feel free to reach out to me directly on LinkedIn to discuss your experience and the broader roles I'm working on.
