Job Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment.

This position’s internal job code is Electro-Mechanical Technician. Our team is currently hiring for grade 24.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassisAssemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating proceduresUse precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipersPerform visually inspect of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test proceduresEnsure product quality and conformance to specificationsDocument non-conformances and associated rework/repairSoldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT componentsSupport conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED3-5 years of relevant experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability productsIndustry and/or Trade School trainingWorking knowledge ESD, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610 standardsExperience with a variety of assembly techniques and tools (e.g. epoxy, thread-locker, torque wrench, soldering iron, microscope, etc.)3-5 years of soldering experience

Preferred Qualifications

>5 yrs experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g. avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certificationExperience working in at least a 100,000 Class cleanroom environmentAbility to Obtain ClearanceAbility to travel

Individuals will have a soldering exam during interview.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequent standing, sitting, stopping, kneeling, crawling, and squatting is requiredAble to lift up to 50lbs to transfer or move tools, parts, equipment, containers and materialsHave the ability to operate standard computer software (Microsoft office and ERP), equipment and keyboardsAble to work in normal office as well as inside and outside industrial working environmentsPossess the ability to work in confined spaces and at heightsHave ability to fly on regular commercial airlines to offsite locations and launch facilitiesFamiliar with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include, but not limited to, filtered respirators, SCAPE (Self Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble), portable air packs, and splash suits

Summary Pay-Range

Grade 24: $27.32/hr - $43.73/hr
