📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

The PR Specialist is an integral member of Mintz’s Public Relations (PR) team, providing substantive and administrative support. The position reports to the Director of PR. Responsibilities: Work closely with the PR Manager to review, evaluate, and vet media opportunities, including conflicts. Draft and/or copyedit internal and external communications materials that balance journalistic writing and storytelling with strategic brand positioning. Track and monitor media coverage. Help prepare quarterly PR reports for firm section leaders. Develop and publish posts to amplify media coverage and corporate announcements on social media and the Mintz website. Identify and track relevant firmwide awards, working with Business Development team members and attorneys to develop award submissions. Produce weekly internal communication summarizing media coverage. Assist with the collection of data and submission of firm surveys. Provide support to the byline article process, including obtaining permission and reprint rights. Serve as the main contact with media database vendor. Interact with staff and attorneys across all the firm’s offices, as well as with outside vendors. Assume additional responsibilities as requested. This role requires 60% in office presence; remote work is permissible 40% of the time. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or Journalism. 3+ years’ experience in PR, Corporate Communications, or Journalism. Legal or professional services experience preferred, either agency or in-house. Understanding of the discipline of journalism and a demonstrated ability to write and tell stories to journalistic standards. Knowledge of social media platforms with emphasis on application to a business environment. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to execute through to completion. Creative problem solving skills, reasoning ability, and logical thought process. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet various deadlines. Demonstrated ability to professionally interact and collaborate with colleagues at all levels. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Outstanding sense of customer service. Enthusiastic, proactive, and positive attitude. Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion. Must be self-motivated to produce quality work. High level of integrity and honesty. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to quickly get up to speed and master new applications and software is critical. Flexibility to work overtime when necessary.
