Hales Corners Veterinary Clinic, located in gorgeous Hales Corners, WI is looking for a full-time, experienced, or new graduate, Associate Veterinarian to join our client-focused and results-driven team. Our practice is extremely collaborative and supportive of each other with a high CVT & Assistant to DVM ratio.

About Our Hospital: Hales Corners Veterinary Clinic, which is located in close proximity to the many historical and cultural attractions of Milwaukee, has recently been remodeled to include 6 exam rooms, a full treatment room and 2 surgical suites, ultrasound, digital radiography, and orthopedic surgery capabilities on-site.

How You'll Make An Impact

Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP. Diagnose, perform surgery, and treat patients.  Maintain excellent client communication.  Record all pertinent medical, client, and case-related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information.  Call clients for follow-up and to discuss results.  Collaborate to improve and maintain high standards of care/protocols for medical and surgical cases.Communicate clearly and accurately through written and verbal interactions.  Collaborate with DVM teammates on complicated, rare, and interesting cases.Deal with clients in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. Provide feedback and changes to the training program. Provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations.

Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts/week, One Saturday morning per month w/ decreased hours another day that week, including lunch break and open blocks for notes and phone calls.

Ideal Qualifications

Wisconsin state license - Active and in good standing.Proven ability to perform all basic surgeries, including the use of all standard medical instruments and equipment. Must be proficient in a variety of skills ranging from but not limited to laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, and dental.Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, and ability to handle a fast-paced environment. Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. Knowledge of usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs and ability to readily explain them to the clients. Knowledge of anesthesia and recovery states. Ability to instruct team on adjustments to medication protocol for the patient's safety and successful surgical outcomes.The employee must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently. To perform this job successfully it will be necessary to become proficient in the use of practice management software.
