Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities

Design, develop, evaluate, & support automated industrial machinery products with focus on New Product Development (NPD) in the Component Manufacturing (CM) and off-site construction industryLead team members through the planning, development, and deployment of complex electrical architectures with a high level of integrated automationGenerate electrical project execution artifacts of small to large scale deployments (i.e. cost estimates, schedules, resource needs, risks, forecasts, status, etc.)Lead electrical team members through staged-gating process (i.e. requirements reviews, design reviews, test readiness reviews, verification reviews, etc.)Lead team members through troubleshooting & root cause/corrective actionsDesign/integrate/test electrical parts and assemblies using industry best practicesDesign/integrate/test industrial PLCs and electrical control systemsDesign/integrate/test industrial electro-mechanical & robotic systemsWork with software developers to generate system logic and controls (SW development experience will be a significant advantage)Develop/maintain project documentation (i.e. system requirements, engineering drawings, equipment manuals, test plans, project notes, etc.)Ensure compliance with MiTek engineering procedures, guidelines, industry standards, and governmental regulations applicable to industrial machineryPerform engineering analysis/calculations where applicableEnter new/update existing data in MRP/ERP systemSupport Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing, Installation, and Customer Service Organizations throughout a product’s lifecycleReview/stay current with industry trends & emerging technologiesMentor less experienced electrical engineers & designersManage individual tasking while leading other electrical/robotic engineers through project execution with minimal oversightSome travel required (up to 25% during critical on-site activities)Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Computer Engineering or related field from an accredited university8+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical or systems engineering required Must have experience with validation of requirements and requirements development Experience in the utilization of vision systems and roboticsExperience with LabVIEW and/or other software development environments desiredProficiency with PLCs, motor controllers, VFDs, servos, and sensorsAbility to rapidly diagnose and troubleshoot automated systemsUnderstanding of power distribution, circuit breakers, and terminal blocksUnderstanding of strength of materials, statics, and dynamicsUnderstanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systemsUnderstanding of electrical symbols with experience in circuit analysisUnderstanding of machining and welding symbols with experience in GD&T analysisProficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to work individually and as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to work well under pressure and deadlinesStrong planning, organizational, and decision-making skillsStrong communication skills to interact frequently with stakeholders
