Portfolio Services Senior Engineer

The OMPS team at MSCI is responsible for building and extending our platform for storing portfolio-related client data. The platform is a high-performance microservice architecture leveraging the latest Java, Spring Boot, MSSQL, and Kubernetes technologies to deliver performant storage and retrieval of data. Your key responsibilitiesAnalyze and extend the application and technical architectureProfiling services and databases to maximize performanceDesign and implement telemetry and monitoring tools to: monitor service health including CPU and memory; trace data as it flows through system; track message volume, sizes and throughput; identify hotspots in performanceSupport other teams’ integrations with the platform3rd tier production support

skills and experience that will help you excelBachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (e.g., mathematics, physics, engineering, finance)At least 8 years of software development experienceFull software lifecycle experience: source code control, release/dependency managementOutstanding technical communication skillsCompetent in an object-oriented and scripting languageExperience designing RESTful APIsExperience with database systems, specifically MSSQLExperience in cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google CloudExperience with application containers such as Docker and Kubernetes
