📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our client, a St. Petersburg, FL-based manufacturer of consumer electronic products, is actively seeking an Electronics and Firmware Engineer to join their team. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for designing, assembling, and evaluating electro-mechanical assemblies, developing test equipment, and writing firmware/software to support new products. The position also entails engagement in test fixture design, troubleshooting, and meticulous documentation to ensure compliance with design requirements and agency approvals.
The base salary for the role is in the region of $70k - $90k plus sign on bonus and the potential for another annual bonus. Our client also offers medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a company matched 401k. Due to the nature of our clients work, they would require the successful applicant to be a U.S citizen or Green Card holder.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.Experience with C and C++ for various microcontroller architectures.Experience with analog and digital circuit design.Extensive firmware/software design, architecture, and documentation experience.Proficient in component selection, and PCB layoutStrong electronic assembly skills for building, debugging, and modifying prototype circuits.Proficient in using tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, electronic load, In-Circuit Debuggers (JTAG), DAQ, and soldering stations.Familiarity with PC Applications like AutoDesk (AutoCAD, Inventor…).Preferred knowledge of EMI/RFI design considerations and hazardous area certification standards.
