Senior Firmware Engineer

Our client, who is based in Nashville, TN is currently in search of a Senior Firmware Engineer to join their team. You'll be tasked with designing and crafting secure, thoroughly tested, and easily comprehensible code across diverse projects, spanning IoT devices, medical technology, and Consumer Electronics. Collaborating closely with the CTO, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing company processes. Additionally, you'll engage with a range of MCUs, sensors, and wireless technologies.

The base salary for the role is in the region of $150k - $170k depending on skills and experience. Our client offers extensive health coverage, matched 401k as well as a flexible working pattern.

Duties will include:Contribute to product development within a vertically integrated team, spanning Hardware, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, and Product Strategy, guiding products from initial research to full-scale production.Engage in diverse projects encompassing IoT devices, medical equipment, and Consumer Electronics.Design and implement secure, thoroughly tested, and easily comprehensible code architecture.Work with a variety of MCUs, sensors, and wireless technologies to achieve project goals.Regularly release firmware through automated CI build processes.Participate in comprehensive code reviews with the firmware team, fostering both mentorship and learning opportunities.Collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer and the technology team to refine company process and implement best practice.

To be successful in the role, you will need:Proficient in C/C++ with 5 years of experience working on embedded MCUs.Well-versed in Zephyr or FreeRTOS.Expertise in wireless radios/protocols, including Bluetooth, WiFi, and Cellular technologies.Extensive utilization of test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, etc.Competent in PCB design.Comfortable in soldering and modifying electronics.Proficient in reading and comprehending schematics.
