📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Summary
The Senior Payor Contract Analyst will play a pivotal role in optimizing and enhancing the financial performance of MyMichigan Health through the analysis and review of managed care contracts. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, as well as a deep understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies and managed care contracts.
Responsibilities
50%)*Contract Analysis and Evaluation
Analyze existing and potential managed care contracts to ensure alignment with organizational goals and financial objectives.
Evaluate contract performance and identify opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and revenue enhancement.
Contract modeling and scenario analysis to assess the impact of proposed contract changes.
Implement systems for monitoring and tracking key performance indicators related to managed care contracts.
Identify trends, variances, and outliers to proactively address issues and capitalize on opportunities.
(50%)*Data Management and Reporting
Oversee the collection, validation, and management of healthcare data related to managed care contracts.
Develop and maintain robust reporting mechanisms to track key performance indicators, financial metrics, and contract performance.
Provide regular reports to executive leadership and relevant stakeholders.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
Negotiation Support -
Collaborate with the contract negotiation team to provide data-driven insights and recommendations during contract negotiations with payers.
Assist in developing negotiation strategies to optimize reimbursement rates and contractual terms.
Stakeholder Collaboration -
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operational departments, to ensure alignment in contract management strategies.
Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as payers and regulatory bodies, to stay informed about industry trends and changes.
Act as the liaison between Managed Care Contracting and IT during the contract build process within the electronic health record by interpreting and applying contract terms and completing post-build audit to validate and ensure accuracy.

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field required; relevant Managed Care Contracting experience preferred.
