📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
I. Primary Function: The Superintendent-Asphalt directs activities of union and non-union workers engaged with asphalt lay down in construction of highways, runways, site development infrastructure or other heavy highway construction projects.
II. Major Duties and Responsibilities:procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of asphalt lay down in the projectasphalt crews and equipmentPrepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules on the basis of this review and communicates adjustments to the project manager.Ensures all work progresses at a pace that maintains the schedule and owner milestoneswork in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
III. Additional Responsibilities: and submit all project daily trucking logs and material summary tickets on a daily basisand accurately enters time and quantities on a daily basisand resolve complaints by field personnel
IV. Required Skill/Knowledge of asphalt lay down practices and proceduresability to multi-task across several projectsin Outlook, Excel, Word,and motivatedleadership skillsability to complete projects on time and on budget
V. Preferred Skills/ Knowledge: MS Project, P6, Viewpoint and HCSS Heavy Bid and Heavy Job
VI. Education Level / Required Certification: Minimum 3 years asphalt paving experience; prior experience as asphalt paving foreman
VII. Problem Solving: Must be able to resolve scheduling conflicts; work effectively with all levels of field personnel in order to successfully complete the project on time and on budget
