Job descriptionIn 1978 Jeans Warehouse was founded by Linda Holt, who started the business from selling jeans in a swap meet. Now with 23 Store locations in major malls across the state of Hawaii and Guam. We carry a wide variety of categories such as, trendy apparel, accessories, and footwear in inclusive size ranges from junior to plus size and kids.About This OpportunityWe are looking for a full time Assistant Buyer for our Los Angeles office. Applicants are required to have 2 years of buying experience and a degree (Bachelors) in related field. Knowledge of Hawaii and the Hawaii market/trends are ideal for this position. This is a hybrid position- in office/market as needed.The Assistant Buyer is a role that allows you to build a foundation of merchant skills. As an Assistant Buyer, you will assist the buying team in advancing the business while learning key processes and providing operational support to your Buyers. You will begin to build your product knowledge and understand what the Jeans Warehouse customer wants!ResponsibilitiesPerform the administrative functions supporting the buying team, including reports, purchase order management, while building foundational merchant skillsProvide basic analysis of key business data and reporting, as directed by Buyer, including the monitoring of selling reports, Open-To-Buy, and stock to sales analysisDevelop effective relationships with vendors and appropriately interact with them to follow up on open business issues, as directed by BuyerBegin to effectively utilize the merchandising systems and understand warehouse processes.Develop and demonstrate basic product knowledge through sharing information with BuyerPerforms market analysis, competitive shops, and identifies emerging trendsEnsure timely delivery of merchandise through communication with Buyers and vendorsSupport Buyers in business meetings (i.e. vendor appointments and fittings)Who You AreYou have a passion for Fashion retail productsYou have a desire to learn, grow and engageYou have an understanding and prior use of retail mathYou have a team player attitudeYou have high degree of flexibility and initiativeYou are proficient in ExcelYou are organized and pay attention to detailYou are a strong communicatorYou are a go-getter!Benefits Of Joining Our TeamSince 1999, we are a proud employee-owned company (ESOP).
