The Underwood Firm is a boutique real estate litigation firm seeking an Associate Attorney with 0 to 5 years of experience to join our rapidly growing practice.
The OpportunityThis is a great opportunity for a new attorney to practice legal skills in court, with opposing counsel, and with clients. Our firm encourages and fosters professional and personal growth by providing training, guidance, and regular mentorship so that each team member can reach their full potential.We have a collegial atmosphere with interesting legal and procedural issues.
ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities include (i) appearing for court and depositions; (ii) negotiating settlements with opposing counsel and clients; (iii) conducting legal research and writing, including drafting complaints, discovery, briefs, letters, and memos; (iv) developing litigation strategies to help clients achieve their goals; (v) reviewing and investigating legal claims; and (vi) reporting to firm management. Attention to detail is important.
Desired Skills & Experience1. California bar license or first-time bar exam results pending;2. Experience or strong interest in the firm's practice areas (Real Estate, Business, Family Law, Probate, and Litigation);3. Excellent time, communication, management, and problem-solving skills;4. Desire to grow professionally;5. Strong computer and internet skills;6. This is a full-time position; contract attorneys need not apply.
Compensation and Working EnvironmentThis position pays up to $175,000 annually, with incentives.
Attorneys can work remotely from home, or from a nearby office in San Francisco, California.
