AutoCAD Drafter

Job Summary: The position will be responsible for the design process in all aspects of the distribution and warehousing systems brought to them by our Sales Teams. Projects include but not limited to racking, shelving, mezzanines, picking systems, conveyors, sortation, and carousels. They will work closely with the sales team to achieve the common goal – making our Customer’s day to day operational cost lower and more efficient while maintaining Doggett’s integrity and reputation.

Essential Functions: Formulate and maintain total system CAD drawings based on customer requirements and needs while working with the Sales Team through project completion.Having knowledge of total solutions and equipment to better serve the Customer.Identifying vendors and building relationships based on the latest trends and products available. Being able to rely on guidance from start to finish on any and all design projects.Attending conferences, meetings, vendor seminars to educate the Sales Team on the latest products even if this is not applicable to a current DWS Customer.Recommend and develop key strategic relationships with suppliers and integrators of material handling systems, equipment, and controls software.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degreeFive or more years of experience in automation, conveyor systems or industrial engineeringKnowledge of AutoCADBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field of studyFive or more years of direct experience in warehouse layout, design, industrial automation and controls, including conveyor systems and material handling equipmentDesign experience with a systems integrator or conveyor manufacturer preferredProficient in AutoCad, Microsoft Office and project management softwareSelf-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentExcellent time-management and phone skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStable and successful career backgroundWillingness to travel nationwide 5-10 percent.
