Job DescriptionDevelopment Services Group, Inc. is seeking a civil engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, VA. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, creative problem-solver, and attention to detail.
Duties Include:Drafting, revising construction documents for accuracy and completeness and addressing jurisdiction review comments.Create drawings for various construction projects in VA, NC, SC, GA, and FL that consists of commercial, residential, and mixed use developments.Microsoft Office Suite.AutoCad Civil 3D a must.AutoTurn (preferred)Site visits and construction administrationOther duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: Required: A minimum of two years of experience drafting and designing construction documents in land development is required; Must be experienced with AutoCad and Civil 3D; Must be authorized to work in VA without sponsorship; Must be willing to travel to other states on occasion; Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Must possess the ability to manage time effectively under deadlines; Must possess the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities while still maintaining accuracy and quality standards; Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; Able to work independently or as part of a team as applicable depending on project needs; Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (summer heat & cold).
