Role OverviewOur client seeks a Director that will work with investments related to renewable energy financing. The Director will work with the investment group to build & manage the company’s portfolio. Investments that will be worked on include energy storage, solar & distributed generation projects. The major responsibilities of this position include spearheading the negotiation & structuring of transactions, assessing risks, & supporting with business development initiatives.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage transaction structuring & the negotiation of transaction documentsCoordinate with the investment team to provide clients with a positive experienceSupport with origination efforts by participating in conferences & trade associationsHelp develop origination approachesCreate internal transaction materialsIdentify governmental & economic termsAssess risks & methods to mitigate themOversee teams that handle transaction documentationLead relevant financing processes related to investment project transactions (e.g., financial modeling, due diligence) on an as needed basisWork with internal teams to provide expertise in portfolio assets & investment concerns
QualificationsBachelor’s degree from a four-year universityCFA &/or an MBA are preferredExperience executing multiple complex energy project transactions from start to finishPrior experience negotiating transactions related to structured debt & equity investmentsExperience in climate finance is requiredComfort & familiarity with origination & execution of financial transactionsAttention to detail & ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environmentExperience in banking, energy, tax equity or consulting within the energy / utilities sector is requiredStrong communication skillsAbility to work independently & with a variety of individuals including third parties at various levels of their organizationsTrack record of reliability & dependability
