📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Segal Shuart Landscape Architects is seeking a Landscape Designer with 1-3 years of experience. We’re looking for someone who has passion for design, enjoys working on multiple projects and at varying scales, and is excited about the opportunity to grow with our firm.
The candidate should have strong graphic skills. Experience with construction detailing, construction documentation, and construction observation is desired but not required. Understanding of public agency requirements and the plan check process is desired but not required.
Our work includes multi-family and affordable housing, high-end single family residential, institutional, and commercial projects throughout Southern California.
The skills/qualities we are looking for are
- 1-3 years of design experience in the field of residential landscape design / landscape architecture
- Forward-thinking, resourceful, collaborative, and passionate about design
- Commitment to excellence and high standards in design and documentation
- Outstanding presentation skills, both verbally and graphically
- Strong organization and the ability to manage priorities and deliverables
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels
- Experience, or desire to gain experience, with the coordination of sub-consultants
- Ability to contribute knowledge to the project team
- Knowledge of CA native/adapted plants and planting design
- Knowledge of materials and construction documentation and observation
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
- Hand-sketching and diagramming ability
- Degree/Certificate in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Design is required
