Job Overview:The Vice President of National Accounts is responsible for overseeing the management of key national accounts. The primary role is to develop and implement strategies to grow these key accounts and maintain strong relationships with their customers. The VP of National Accounts may also supervise a team of sales representatives and lead the team’s day-to-day operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:Account Management: The VP of National Accounts is responsible for managing a portfolio of important national accounts. They work closely with account managers and sales teams to ensure that each account receives proper attention and support.Strategy Development: They are involved in creating strategic plans to expand the company's presence within key national accounts. This involves identifying growth opportunities, setting revenue targets, and establishing action plans.Relationship Building: The VP of National Accounts is the primary point of contact for key clients at the national level. Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients is crucial for long-term success.Negotiation: They are involved in high-level negotiations with clients to finalize contracts, pricing, and terms of engagement.Team Leadership: This position leads a team of account managers and sales professionals by providing guidance, setting performance targets, and ensuring the team is working efficiently and effectively.Market Analysis: Analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and challenges for the company within the national account segment.Revenue Growth: Meeting or exceeding revenue targets for the national account segment is a significant responsibility. Required Skills/Abilities:Proven leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team as VP or Director level position.Experience in setting KPIs and achieving strategic goals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The ability to think strategically and develop plans to achieve long-term objectives.Strong negotiation skills to secure and maintain key national accounts.The ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and financial data to make informed decisions.A customer-centric mindset with a focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts.The capacity to adapt to changing market conditions and adjust strategies accordingly.A track record of delivering results and achieving revenue targets.Strong networking skills to establish and leverage industry connections.Technology Proficiency including familiarity with relevant sales and customer relationship management (CRM) tools as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.Willingness to travel to occasional on-site company meetings, visit key clients, and attend industry events.Utilizes data and sound judgment when making decisions.

Education and Experience:A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field. Preferably an MBA or relevant master's degree.7 to 10 years of extensive experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably in a leadership or managerial role.
