Payroll and Accounting Specialist

Standard Electric Company, a 95-year-old wholesale electrical distributor, is seeking a Payroll and Accounting Specialist at the corporate office in Saginaw, Michigan. This professional must have a high level of integrity and be motivated and dependable. Candidate should have 4-6 years of accounting experience. Possessing a BA in Accounting is preferred. Applicant must have payroll and accounting experience within a small-medium sized business or corporate environment. Pay is commensurate with experience.

ResponsibilitiesGood working knowledge/understanding of AR, AP, bank reconciliation, cash management, sales tax, and accounting principles.Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft applications.Continuously look for opportunities for process improvement implementation.Must demonstrate the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.This employee is expected to work well within a team.Ability to communicate effectively to resolve problems with employees, customers, suppliers, etc.Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.Capable of working independently.Excellent communication skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously, with dignity and extraordinary respect.Model superior customer service behaviors for all personnel by maintaining positive relationships with customers, employees and vendors.
