📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Viwinco is searching for a Research & Development Manager to join our organization! This role will lead and drive new product development, product improvements, testing, certifications, and other key research & development initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIESLead the compliance, testing, and certification process for new and existing productsManage projects related to new product development and product improvements including meeting milestone commitments, providing status updates regularly, and ultimately meeting project deliverables based on established scope, schedule, and budgetCollaborates with the Sales team to incorporate customer feedback into product developmentPartners with vendors and suppliers to ensure company has most appropriate raw materials, parts, and related equipment/ toolingObserves safety standards through the work, including but not limited to, proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), appropriate usage within specification of tools and equipment, and the necessary maintenance and housekeeping of respective R&D work area(s)Ensures team is in compliance with newly implemented or updated manufacturing and/ or operational policies, processes, or proceduresActively participates in operations’ initiatives and programs, such as Kaizen events or other Lean Manufacturing programs or processesPerforms other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or any other relevant field of study with at least 5 years of experience in a Research & Development or Engineering role for a Building Material/ Window Manufacturer required; Or a combination of a HS Diploma and at least 10 years at the experience level identified above requiredInvolved in industry associations/ groups, such as NFRC, FGIA, and SGCC preferredTesting experience in the Window Manufacturing industry must include impact testing and AAMA certifications. Experience and knowledge of the Florida Building Code strongly preferredExcellent computer skills; proficient with Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of Spanish is preferred, but not required
