📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Vyvve, LLC is a fast-growing biotech company pioneering a new technology in beauty and personal care. Vyvve is expanding our research and development group and is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Research Scientist level cell biologist with mammalian cell culture experience. This position also includes hands-on bench-work activities and oversight of junior lab staff. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Research and Development. You will:Lead and mentor a small team of scientists, cultivating a productive and safe work environment.Plan and direct laboratory experiments to support the commercial needs of Vyvve leadership.· Direct and oversee routine cell culture screening experiments using RT-PCR, ELISA, and microscopy with junior lab staff. Manage laboratory recourses, including equipment, supplies and budget with the Senior Scientist and Sr. Vice President of Research and Development.
WHAT WE SEEK:· PhD in cell biology or molecular biology, or related field.Five or more years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or beauty industry lab experience preferred.Experience in cell culture techniques and manipulation with primary and immortalized mammalian cell culture.Experience with RNA purification, RT-qPCR, ELISA, fluorescence and brightfield microscopy.Highly observant, strong attention to detail.Ability to analyze, summarize, and effectively communicate scientific data. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing workflows in a fast-paced work environment.Formulate abstracts, reports, and manuscripts to share the results of the lab’s efforts with the broader scientific community.Ability to exercise independent judgment regarding assay optimization and data interpretation.Have experience with bioinformatic software.
