As the manager of a union workforce, the Shift Manager delegates responsibilities to shift members while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Qualifications for this role include:bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science/Food Safety, or a related fieldat least three years of experience leading a team in a food/beverage/pharmaceutical manufacturing environmentstrong verbal and written communication skillsproficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsability to make good judgments for on-the-spot problem-solvingexperience in a Union environment leadership role is preferred

Accountabilitiesmanage production activities on the floor, providing direction and communicating with key stakeholderscollaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production schedules and targets, minimize downtime and unnecessary overtimeensure health and safety, regulatory and quality protocols are always in place; proactively enforce compliance and intervene in non-compliancedevelop the skill set of the team to perform the job effectively and efficiently; proactively provide feedbackmanage the mindset and behavior of their shift and take corrective action as requiredlead communications between all employees and be proactive with leading performance feedbackmaintain inventory and ensure documentation of batch reports, OEE, and handover reportsAs part of the site leadership team, actively participate in:process improvement projects, committees, working groups, and reportingemployment matters (interviewing, training, coaching, leave of absence, etc.)management of timecards, adjusting in compliance with CBA and company policiesmonitor equipment performance and production KPIs/Metrics, analyze trends, and implement continuous improvement initiativesenforce compliance related to Union CBA, regulatory, quality, company policies, SOPsreview and develop SOPs, training shifts and implement changesproactively assist when and where needed

Our location in Delhi, New York (with 100+ employees) focuses on producing a range of hydrolysates protein for infant & toddler nutrition, adult (performance, lifestyle, healthy aging, and medical), food, beverage, and pharmaceuticals. Our manufacturing facility operates within the Business Group Ingredients; we produce ingredients for several different domestic and international customers.
