📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

Our newly formed Marketing and Development team is dedicated to shaping Yorkie911 Rescue's strategy, social media presence, event planning, advertising, content creation, editorial distribution, campaign coordination, networking, and outreach efforts. This internship aims to contribute to the creation and spotlighting of unique stories related to Yorkie911 Rescue's staff, volunteers, donors, history, and community interactions. The primary responsibilities include managing the organization's website, blog, and social media platforms, focusing on engaging the audience to raise awareness and expand our organizational footprint. Additionally, interns will be involved in community engagement initiatives, fostering connections with local communities and collaborating with the media to amplify our mission. This may involve reaching out to local news outlets, coordinating press releases, and building relationships with key influencers. Additional projects of interest can be tailored to the intern's skills and aspirations within the scope of our Marketing and Development goals.

Responsiblities:Interns will collaborate with the Marketing and Engagement Manager to assist in:Day-to-day execution of copywriting, social publishing, ideation, and content creation.Collecting, organizing, drafting, and scheduling engaging content and posts for the Marketing Department's media platforms and blog, with a minimum of two social media posts per week.Providing support in drafting news stories and updates, seeking relevant and interesting articles to share and discuss on the organization's social media.Filming, editing, and conducting interviews, gathering testimonials, and highlighting fundraising events and other projects.

Qualifications:Applicants should possess and/or understand the following:Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student or in graduate school.Legally authorized to work in the U.S.Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and a team player mindset.Basic knowledge of social platforms, Microsoft Office, Canva, Google Applications, and/or video editing software.Immersed in mass media and popular culture.
