The Senior Inventory-General Ledger Accountant/Manager is primarily responsible for managing inventory and overseeing the general ledger.
Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for ensuring that inventory-related period-end close activities, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards, are completed accurately, timely, and completely in line with reporting deadlines.Responsible for end-to-end inventory processes, costing and valuations. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Production, Operations, and Logistics departments to accurately record inventory data and cost allocations. Manage company cycle count program.Collaborate with the Corporate Controller on reserves and dispose of excess and obsolete inventory. Monitor inventory accounting and associated system reports to ensure they are accurate and comprehensive.Protect inventory integrity by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.Assist with financial audits and provide recommendations and procedural enhancements to ensure that accounting procedures and reporting align with generally accepted accounting principles.Assist with NetSuite implementation, focusing on the inventory and work order modules.Perform other ad hoc duties as requested.
QualificationsBS or MS degree in Accounting/Finance or similarCertified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role, with a strong focus on inventory and job costing.Proven experience with GAAP and relevant accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SOS, etc.).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Intermediate Excel skills Significant hands-on experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks and SOSSolid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost accounting Understanding U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment is required.Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Extraordinary interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments. Must be a team player who also works well independently. Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.
