Under the supervision of the Program Arts Director of C.O.C. (Coloring On Canvas), the Art Instructor will be responsible for the day to day functions of visual arts & craft programs for our Town of Matthews site.

Principle Activities* Provide a fun, educationally driven arts experience for youth ages 5-13.* Serve as class art instructor for visual art.* Assist with administrative duties as assigned including producing rosters, name tags, and programs.* Provide activities and supervision based off of lesson plan provided.* Maintain program schedules supervising breaks and transitions.* Maintain attendance.* Provide professional and engaging communication to families.* Insure the health and safety of each participant and maintain a safe and clean program site.* Be a positive influence and advocate of the arts and COC (Coloring On Canvas).* Accept the goals and objectives of COC (Coloring On Canvas) and work to achieve them.* Take part in all training or in-service activities to develop proficiency required performing job responsibilities.* Be an active participant in program analysis providing constructive and proactive feedback for program adjustments and improvements.* Maintain positive relationships, open communication with COC (Coloring On Canvas) personnel, participants, administration and volunteers.* Assume any other duties as assigned by the COC (Coloring On Canvas) administration.* Maintain a clean and tidy classroom space

Requirements:* Must be 17 years of age; minimum one year of college education preferred- NOT REQUIRED* Must pass drug test & background check.* Background in arts and/or education preferred.* Experience working with a variety of ages.* Comfort assisting with administrative duties.* Interest in children and significant evidence of emotional maturity, good moral character, judgment, integrity and leadership capability.* Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances.* Desire to learn and apply experiences as necessary.* Strong interpersonal skills to communicate in a positive manner with participants and staff.
