Certified Surgical Technologist

Position: Certified Surgical TechnologistShift: Days 8*5Location: Lakewood, CODuration: Permanent

Job Summary:Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms. Scrub on all cases. Primarily, Mainly Ortho, Total joint replacements (Hips, Shoulder, Knees Ankles etc.), Ortho Spine and Sports Medicine. Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations. Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases. Maintaining sterile field during procedures. Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs. Maintaining and updating preference cards.

Requirements:Basic Computer skills required.One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.Previous Scrub experience with Ortho, Sports Medicine services preferred.Experience in a specialty field preferred.HS Diploma/GED requiredCompletion of an approved Surgical Technician program requiredBLS from the American Heart Association requiredCurrent registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech requiredCertification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required
