We're seeking a skilled Senior UX Designer to join our team to support the ongoing development of our OpenNMS network monitoring solutions. As a Senior UX Designer, you're a detail oriented, curious and creative problem solver. Your curiosity and pioneering spirit will create ideas that will both visually guide and inspire our users to engage and enjoy their daily interactions with our products, which will in return provide greater efficiency, accessibility and confidence. You will contribute to the user experience of both workflows within the OpenNMS solution and help to contribute to the NantHealth Design System – bridging the gap between visual design and user experience!

This position has the flexibility to primarily work from home, with a preference for a candidates in a commutable distance to one of our office locations in either Philadelphia, PA or Boston, MA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Development of cutting-edge, disruptive designs and collaboration with multidisciplinary teamsAbility to span the design spectrum from vision, storytelling, and ideation – to deep systematic detail design executionExperience in utilizing and developing design systems spanning components, iconography, typography, color and layoutMust be a strong communicator, influencer and cross-functional partner that is able to present strong visual solutions and collaborate across a range of multidisciplinary stakeholdersBe a design advocate and champion of human-centered design practices who knows how to interpret user and business data to make informed design decisionsEnsure design decisions are informed by a necessary amount of in-depth user and technology research (knowledge of display hardware, responsive design, accessibility and web standards)Effectively collaborate with other product stakeholder and other members of the UX team as they conceptualize, create, test and refine user interfaces across the product portfolioEstablish and promote consistent visual artifacts, design style guides, best practices, and standardsCreation and maintenance of a complete design system to establish and evolve our product designRally the UX, Product and Engineering teams around a shared design thinking methodology and cultureLeverage interpersonal skills to communicate, rationalize and defend design decisionsConfidence in taking initiative and handling multiple projects at a timeOccasional travel to our other office locations (US wide & Belfast, Ireland)

Education & Experience Requirements

MFA, BFA, or BS in Visual Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent5+ years experience developing user centered solutions, a focus on network management is a plus5+ years of design experience in visual, interaction, motion and/or graphic design

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Portfolio availableProficiency in Figma for both design and prototyping, knowledge of Axure for prototyping is a plusProficiency with Adobe Creative Suite – specific focus in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop as well as other industry-standard design and prototyping toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skills; possess the ability to deliver clear, concise and accurate message through written and verbal meansExtremely organized, detail-oriented individual with strong project and time management skillsAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment Willingness to learn new skills and technologies to effectively support collaborators. Ability to provide creative input as well as take creative direction and constructive feedbackClear understanding of user centric design principles, user experience design. The salary range for remote US-based applicants for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location.

$82,000 - $109,000 base salary, plus bonus potential.
