Summary
The NASA Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducts audits, reviews, and investigations of NASA programs and operations to prevent and detect fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement and to assist NASA management in promoting economy, efficiency, and effectiveness. The OIG consists of auditors, analysts, specialists, investigators, attorneys, and support staff at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC and NASA Centers throughout the United States.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the experience required for the grade level to which you apply. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Planning and executing a public affairs program of major national scope and significance, involving the conveying of information about complex programs affecting a large and diverse number of people and programs. Coordinating and directing special events and logistics; gathering input from various sources and developing varied approaches and strategies when responding to information requests. Designing communication strategies, techniques and methods for the following: campaigns, interviews, demonstrations, and media background briefings; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with groups having conflicting interests and divergent points of views. Managing a portfolio of media relations and communication projects that convey complex information to the press, public, and staff. Developing and executing all aspects of press coverage including interviews, briefings, press releases, brochures and other information. Experience in using software (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe, PowerBI, TweetDeck, Social Media Analytics and Drupal) and hardware to create visual designs for various publications, reports, presentations, social media postings and other products in support of audits and investigative activities as well as special events and projects.
