AVP, Global Head of Program Management

Nasdaq Fintech division seeks an Associate Vice President, Head of Global Program Management, to lead our global practice, reporting to the Vice President, Global Head of Customer Delivery. The primary goal of this position is to provide direction, lead, and manage the overseeing of major and high-profile implementation projects, from development to implementation. This includes ensuring projects are delivered and completed to a consistently high standard, within budget, and that objectives are met on time. Makes sure the projects meet professional project management standards and industry regulations and adhere to the best practices of project management from the Nasdaq’s Delivery Frameworks. This position is also responsible for monitoring a global portfolio of projects to ensure adherence to the best project management practices.

The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program and global portfolio initiatives. As a natural-born leader, you will have a strong talent for project coordination and delegation. Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion. The Head of Program Management must have practical experience as a project manager for large and complex enterprise software initiatives within the capital markets or regulatory technology industry.

There will be considerable travel required globally.

Responsibilities

Directs and oversees the Portfolio Management function for the global Customer Delivery organization, with duties including but not limited to:

Work closely with the Head of Customer Delivery and Regional Directors, cross-functional expert teams, and project managers to assist in planning and developing scope, validate deliverables, work plans, and budgets for high-profile projectsWork with the Regional Directors and program and project managers to identify risks and opportunities across the global portfolio of projectsAnalyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for management and stakeholdersBuilds strategic relationships with clients and key decision-makers and participates in the Steering Committee for key projectsMonitor programs, procedures, and metrics to ensure adherence to defined project management standards, on-time delivery, and overall customer satisfactionFocus on building and improving process efficiencies within the project methodology in partnership with the Delivery Architecture and Subject Matter Expert groupsIdentifying opportunities for efficient and effective cross-functional global collaboration and organizing and implementing solutions to related business challenges.Manage portfolio, program and project evaluation, including continual improvement of evaluation criteria and methodology, execution of the evaluation and presentation of resultsIdentifying objectives, assignments, critical paths, work-related tasks and reviewing work products as neededDirecting the development of Project Management related training and associated materialsAct as senior point of project escalations for project within the global program of key projectsReport on the performance of the portfolio and provide Calypso leadership with data for informed decision making.Manage the budget for the Portfolio Management Office and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectivesEstablishes Project Manager disciplines, templates and methodologies across Nasdaq.Assists in growing the organization globally through awareness and application of global trends and markets in one’s business unit.

Qualifications And Experience

Minimum 10 years in professional services consulting of which 5 years is within management and preferably in the capital markets or regulatory technology software implementationProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Agile Scrum Master Certification is highly desired. Master’s degree preferredHighly proficient in applicable business software applications, including Microsoft Project and JIRA applications; preparation of business plans, analyses, financial projections, and programmatic and operational reportsTrack record of superior change management and contractual negotiations within complex project environmentsStrong leadership and management skills and strong customer escalation and resolution capabilitiesRecord of leadership in a global, remote, team-oriented environment, working well in a fast-paced environment, and meeting multiple, concurrent deadlinesExceptional negotiation and conflict-resolution skillsExcellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skillsExcellent organizational project and time management skillsTrack record of developing and maintaining relationship with stakeholder of all levels, including senior management and C-Level executives, both internally and externallyLong experience of effective portfolio and program management. Having been a senior member of program and project management teamsSolid proficiency in portfolio, program and project management methodologiesStrong knowledge and experience in the use of the various tools and processes to aid program management

The base pay range for this role is $139,500 - $232,500. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
