Manager Accounting ServicesDescription: Must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and environment and understand and follow all state, federal and company health, safety and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks assigned.Summary of Position: The Manager, Accounting Services role is responsible for the accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and Payroll accounting processes and teams. The Manager is expected to demonstrate leadership expertise including: process analysis, book accounting and inter-department and cross-department relationship management. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Process• Overseeing the operational process and working within the team to identify process and control improvements• Ability to create the steps to be executed (“project plan”) to achieve the improved process performance• Ensuring appropriate resources and skills are available for both routine and project activities• Ensure that appropriate evidence is retained for the performance of key SOX controls• Support of the internal control and financial audit requests• Review and approve various journal entries and account reconciliations, including those for intercompany accounts, accounts receivable, various accruals• Perform as-needed support for troubleshooting resolution and future improvement• Ensure that accounting policies are current and applied consistently• Emphasis on completing tasks timely People• Mature team leadership approach, including; o Establishing priorities, o Monitoring deadlines, holding teams accountableo Providing direct, frequent, coaching in the spirit of continuous improvemento Act as a hub, linking site needs, Gillette office needs and Broomfield office needs with a business perspective Communication• Listening to, understanding and reconciling expectation across departments (e.g. procurement or HR)• Formal project status tracking and reports• Open door style to facilitate timely identification and action on matters raised by the teams• Provide interface support with internal audit, the independent public accountants and others (e.g. AR securitization program), as appropriate, in connection with regular reviews, audits and special projects. Systems and other• Assist in performing special projects, including the implementation of various financial systems, and infrequent accounting analyses as requested by management.Qualifications: Knowledge and Relevant Experience• BS/BA degree in business, accounting.• 8 - 10 years of combined experience in either a public accounting firm or a publicly listed company. • CPA preferred.• Knowledge of accounting and auditing, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with internal control systems.Skills: • Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness.• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have strong organizational skills.• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.• Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.• Ability to build relationships and work well across functions.Leadership/Management:• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. • Ability to build relationships and work well across functions• Problem solving capabilitiesPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to frequently sit with frequent forward bending and occasional rotation. The employee must rarely lift, carry and/or move up to 13 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is required to rarely push or pull up to 45 pounds horizontally. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required occasionally to walk; climb stairs; and stand with rare rotation. Rarely the employee is required to squat repetitively or reach up to 74”. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Environment: Works in office environment and rarely site environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
