Mechanical Engineer

Position Overview

The Mechanical Engineer will work under the supervision of the more experienced team members and the Chassis Engineering Manager. The Engineer will provide support for Diesel and EV bus on the manufacturing floor helping to identify design iterations and developing improvements to aid in increasing manufacturing capability and throughput while being mindful of cost impacts. They will develop interim and permanent corrective actions for issues found in the production environment that need updated or corrected. They will also aid in Product Development plant trials to aid design integration into the production process.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support and information to production team to ensure product integrityWork with the production and manufacturing teams to identify corrective actions for issues foundWork to increase manufacturing capability, lower costs, and reduce complexityConduct plant trials to validate design changes integrate into the production processRelease design changes to correct identified issues

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

OR

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment

Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
