📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Overview
To plan and manage instructional design projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the Real Estate Lending organization. Develop instructional courses tailored to meet the desired learning outcomes and needs of Navy Federal and the learners. Collaborate to implement strategies for educating and training employees to achieve higher levels of performance. Utilize a variety of techniques to define and sequence instructional content and strategies. Create curricula by quickly and efficiently learning/processing large volumes of information and by conducting research on subject matter and meeting with subject matter experts. Remain supportive of business unit/organizational training needs and refresh the training and materials as needed throughout its lifecycle. Work under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Conduct needs assessment on request from business unit management to align and define customized training or individual guidance to improve and develop performanceTranslate business unit Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge into compelling digital and blended learning solutionsDesign storyboards and scripts in a timely and efficient mannerDevelop professional learning content utilizing tools like the Articulate 360 suite and CamtasiaEnsure learning solutions are delivered in accordance to agreed timelinesManage expectations around deadlines with SME’s, team and other stakeholdersComplete process mapping validations Advise and assist trainers on course evaluation resultsCollaborate with others to plan and design courses and curricula; ensure accuracy of content and test multimedia elementsCreate and edit new LMS learning activities; set up required training assignments in LMS; create custom LMS reportsCreate dynamic instructional and training materials using current technologies including references and support tools that reinforce training, increase efficiency and help produce error-free workDevelop and test course content, training games, graphic designs and other technology driven productsDevelop classroom, on-line and/or independent learning program content that transfers knowledge effectively and brings about desired behavior changeDevelop instructional strategies and courses for a business unit and/or cross-company products and skillsEvaluate the effectiveness of courses, learning products and delivery methods to ensure that the desired learning objectives and goals are achievedInvolved in instructional design project teams with multiple deliverables, significant risk and complexitySelect most effective instructional approach including a blend of instructor-led and/or self-directed techniquesSelect, modify, or establish a design and development model appropriate for a given project; analyze learning needs to assist in establishing learning objectivesTrain internal team members on effective use of classroom materials including ILT and VILT and environmentsValidate and integrate feedback, assessments and course evaluations into current and new training course content and/or delivery vehicleConduct presentations for various groups including executive leadershipPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to adapt to fluctuating work-flowAbility to compile, organize and present information clearly and conciselyExperience in evaluating the effectiveness of courses and learning products and delivery methodsExperience in researching/writing course content and/or developing courses, demonstrations, graphic designs and other technology driven productsAdvanced knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools and resourcesWorking knowledge of instructional design methods to develop courses for products, processes and/or skillsExperience creating online training development tools using the Articulate 360 Suite and CamtasiaAdvanced skill to successfully influence, lead and/or guide others towards goalsEffective database and presentation software skillsEffective organizational, planning and time management skillsEffective research, analytical, and problem solving skillsEffective skill capturing and translating processes and requirements into easily understood termsEffective skill collaborating with various external and internal technical and/or functional contactsEffective skill communicating with all levels within an organizationEffective skill in assessing organizational training needs and researching topics for course developmentEffective skill in building strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadershipEffective skill interacting tactfully and effectively in difficult situationsEffective verbal and written communication skillsEffective word processing and spreadsheet software skillsBachelor's Degree in Education, business, communication, behavioral sciences, training development or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
