Web Designer I

Overview

To produce marketing content in a digital media environment in support of corporate communication strategies and enhance online offerings.

Responsibilities

Develops, designs, and publishes digital media communicationsDesigns, prototypes, develops, and implements marketing content on electronic media, including Web Pages, using various Web programming languages, graphic software applications, techniques, and tools; publishes contentCollaborates with clients (business units) to develop materials that meet their needs/preferences in compliance with advertising regulations, copyright/trademark laws and policies, and Navy Federal's corporate cultureDesigns and develops user interface features, site animation, and special effects elementsServes as resource to Web staff and clients in developing user-friendly formats and producing documents in HTML and other applicationsCreates Web graphics, logos, and illustrations to support marketing effortsDesigns day-to-day communications and corporate-wide corporate promotional materialsImplements Web-based /interactive media strategiesMaintains knowledge of graphic design trends and best practices through professional associations, conferences, and seminarsAdministers and updates corporate digital media systemsMonitors Web Pages and other electronic media, to identify and correct technical and grammatical problemsMonitors ongoing digital media communication projects to assure timeliness of delivery; provides project status updates to clients and supervisorTracks and measures member usage of the corporate website to identify trends and recommend ways to enhance the site's effectiveness; prepares reportsRecommends changes to Website to improve system functionality and enhance its effectiveness, updates content of electronic mediaEvaluates information on the use of Web/Internet applications/technologies and marketing trends; determines feasibility of applications/technologies and makes recommendationsParticipates in strategic/conceptual development meetings with clients and supervisor to determine project requirements and objectivesParticipates in analysis and development of new and innovative ways to improve member service using Website and other forms of electronic media to enhance marketing communicationsMaintains log of assignments and provides statistical data to supervisorMay be assigned to small projects or to phase(s) of larger project(s); Assists with system-wide complex projectsIntegrates and implements new technologyTroubleshoots day-to-day- problems and recommends solutionsPerforms other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Working knowledge of Web design techniques and practicesFamiliarity of PC and Internet/Web-based technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and PHP.HTML, Lotus Notes, Web content management software, editing and authoring tools and development languagesFamiliarity with MAC and PC Web design applications basic skill in manipulating computer files on bothFamiliarity with marketing communication principlesThe ability to relate technical concepts to non-technical personnel, and to present findings and conclusions clearly and conciselyExperience in business operations and customer service relations, preferably in a financial institutionResearch, analysis, and problem-solving skillsSkill in designing Web PagesEffective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

College degree or coursework in computer science/information systems, visual communications, interactive media involving design or development of computer programs/applicationsinclude portfolio with your resume
