As Medical Assistant-Mobile Health Unit , you will play a pivotal role in our mission to serve primarily low-income uninsured or underinsured residents of Chicago's medically underserved communities.

Your experience as a professional and multi-skilled person who is dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of the Director of Community Health Programs, will further solidify our position as one of the largest providers of community-based primary care in the city.

Key Responsibilities

Infection Control Practices: Performing aseptic procedures Initial Assessment: Taking vital signs Patient Care: Preparing patients for the provider’s care Team Collaboration : Maintain efficient patient flow in collaboration with the unit manager Register Patients: Complete the registration process for patients arriving to the unit Data Entry: Interview patients for sliding fee scale services , update eligibility and patient demographics

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Completion of Medical Assistant training is required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate is required Must have good written and verbal communication skills Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), MS Word, Excel, Outlook

Medical Assistant Preferred Qualifications

At least one year of related work experience Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants Registered by the American Medical Technologists Bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus
