Position Overview

The Business Intelligence Manager’s role is to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational reporting and analytics. The BI Manager is also responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading reports, dashboards, cubes and data warehouse. The BI Manager will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide his/her development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of information and reports.

Job Responsibilities

Manage

Lead a team to plan, develop, deploy, and oversee business intelligence tools and data strategies to deliver monthly and annual performance budgets and targets.Provide mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members.

Educate and Collaborate

Educate Management / Business on current reporting offering to ensure full utilization.Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information and the sharing of best practices.

Data Stewardship

Ensure accuracy and consistency of database information and formatting.Develop standards and processes to clean database records.Identify data gaps from downstream and upstream source systems.

Develop/Improve/Standards

Analyze business, process and systems performance, and identify improvement opportunities.Recommend and execute new reports, quarterly reviews or other analyses to provide enhanced service to business units.Drive standardization of key metrics across various business stakeholders to improve data governance.Develop automated tools and visualizations to provide real-time insights to business data.Assist in creating and maintaining new report templates and dashboards.Develop, implement and evolve project practices and reporting standards to the organization.Execute ad hoc reporting requests from Leadership and Business Units.

Planning

Assist in the development of strategic plans.Attend knowledge and training sessions for reporting requirements as they evolve.Determine the financial impact of initiatives / strategic decisions.Develop customer requirements into an approved project charter and process documentation.

Communicate

Communicate timely value-added insight to managers and executives.Contribute to development of procedures and policies related to operational processes.Maintain relationships with Leadership and business units through consistent and comprehensive communication and provide support as needed. Provide periodic metrics of productivity.

Job Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or similar.5+ years’ experience developing Business Intelligence Applications (back-end and front-end)2+ years in a team leadership role3+ years project management experience Strong data analysis and data mining skills (T-SQL, SSMS)Strong Data Visualization Skills (Tableau, Power BI)2+ years’ experience managing data warehouses and reporting infrastructures.5+ years’ experience in business data modeling, metadata structure and business subject areas for key business processesA deep understanding of business operations and strategy. Adept at aligning BI initiatives with overall business goals, identifying opportunities for growth, and contributing to strategic planning.

Base [salary range]: $105,000-$115,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.
