Senior Accountant Responsibilities:A successful individual will have a focus on costs, and areas where operational and management accounting principles will generate efficiencies for the operations.Supports Operations by monitoring, preparing, and evaluating detailed analytical reports regarding costs, productivity, efficiencies, spending, and associates variances. Works with the operations team to provide actional operating improvements and process improvements for cost efficiencies.Performs various general accounting activities, including but not limited to journal entries and account reconciliations.Prepares and analyzes cost and vendor price comparisons of raw materials and packaging materials to monitor and report purchase price variances, labor efficiency variances, manufacturing variances, etc.Partners with operations and manufacturing to highlight potential inventory exposures and communicate for resolution and management.Monitors the progress, the completion, and the adherence to Company policies of physical inventory counts of raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and spare parts.Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.Performs analytical reviews for inventory-related General Ledger accounts.Maintains proper Internal Controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.

Senior Accountant Qualifications:Bachelors DegreeFinancial analysis skills and working knowledge of US GAAPStrong knowledge of General Ledger & reconciling GL to sub-ledgersExposure and proficiency with high-level ERP systems (Infor, SAP, Oracle) and knowledge of QuickBooks desktopSuperior analytical and modeling skills including advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports.Demonstrates full understanding of all month-end processes and calculation files and underlying accounting concepts.Be a proactive problem solver, arriving at creative and effective recommendations for improvements and enhancements in financial and non-financial operations.
