Senior Financial Accountant

We are actively searching for our newly created Senior Financial Accountant to be located at our Corporate HQ in the Charleston, SC area. You will report directly to the Controller, with a line to Executive Leadership, being hands-on with all of the day-to-day financial accounting and analysis functions. Corporate Financial Accounting Responsibilities:Prepare journal entries and accruals.Work proactively and cooperatively with other team members and members of management.Maintains general ledger accuracy by monthly account reviews/reconciliation and financial statements for month-end close.Ensure timeliness of the month-end close process and completeness and accuracy of accounting records in accordance with US GAAPResearch, prepare, and perform audit requests for internal and external auditorsMonitoring internal control procedures.Prepare audit selections and workpapers for auditor review.Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information/operational analysisManage daily activities of Accounts Payable staff, including vendor payments.Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepanciesAnalyze vendor agings, researching missing invoices, invoicing errors, disputed charges & communicate findings to management vendor staffResponding appropriately to vendor, client & internal requests.Maintains & files all accounts payable, expense reports, & company credit cardsMaintain electronic & hard copy filing system, retrieve documents from filing system

Senior Financial Accountant Qualifications:Bachelors DegreeFinancial analysis skills and working knowledge of US GAAPKnowledge of General Ledger & reconciling GL to sub-ledgersExperience in the MFG industry is a plus but not a deal-breakerAdvanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) demonstrated on resume.Knowledge of ERP systemsBe a proactive problem solver, arriving at creative and effective recommendations for improvements and enhancements in financial and non-financial operations.
