📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
ALBERT HOTEL is hiring for an HR MANAGER! Albert Hotel is located on a three-acre site from 242 to 248 East Main Street, Fredericksburg, TX. The hotel itself is tucked away from Main Street located behind the original historic buildings, creating a peaceful escape offering quiet sophistication just off bustling Main Street. The hotel will have 110 guest rooms, including bunkrooms, suites, and a private house, and each room will have tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and little extras to make guests feel at home. The property has three restaurants, one bar, a private dining room, and will offer in-room dining. Guests can enjoy the inviting outdoor lagoon-style pool, a fitness center, and a 2,000 sq. foot full-service spa. The property is ideal for hosting events, with a 3,600 square-foot event space and a 1,200 square-foot mezzanine deck and event lawn. What you’ll do: Respond to internal and external Human Resource related inquiries or requests and assist as neededMaintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, benefits, personal information, leaves of absence, progressive discipline, etc.) in the organization’s HRIS system and ensure all employment requirements are metAct as a liaison in conjunction with corporate HR departments or functions (recruiting, payroll, benefits, etc.) Hold teams accountable for the policies presented in the Employee Handbook; execute disciplinary action and conduct investigations as neededSupport the recruitment and hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, issuing offers of employment, informing team members of new hires, etc. Collaborate with departments to ensure open positions are tracking to budget and conduct salary wage surveys as neededBuild strong relationships with internal leaders and talent pipelines; collaborate with local schools and organizations and develop ideas to ensure a diverse candidate poolSchedule meetings, interviews, team agendas, and HR events including job fairs; ensure the successful execution of employee-related eventsEnsure performance discussions are conducted properly and timelyOversee the onboarding process and update new hire records as needed; coordinate and perform new hire orientationEnsure employees are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by monitoring performance and training programs; evaluate and implement training programs as neededAssign and perform exit interviewsMaintain worker’s compensation management, FMLA, and leaves of absenceAssist with benefits enrollment education and executionProcess payroll edits, review, and submit payroll accurately and timelyImplement and support employee relations and perks programsProvide and submit reports of general Human Resources activity to respective departmentsWork with the Corporate People Team to create and deliver necessary training to property managementMaintain and encourage open-door communication with all staff membersEnsure staff has a complete understanding of their job requirements and sufficient training before holding them accountable for resultsMaintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files; ensure 100% compliance with I-9 documentationAssist in ad-hoc Human Resource projects such as the collection of employee engagement surveys Ensure open lines of communication with staff, all departments, and upper management at all times via email, log books, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are metAttend relevant meetings and set team goals as needed Who you are: You use your time wisely and are an expert in prioritizing and multi-tasking.You have strong computer skills + the ability to pick up on software programs quicklyYou know how important relationships are and you find joy in growing and maintaining new ones.You take ownership of your work and you’re able to maintain organization in a changing environment. You’re thorough, have excellent communication, and pay close attention to detail.You take initiative and can work both autonomously and within a team.A plus: You have 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources role within the hospitality industry preferred.A plus: You’re fluent in verbal and/or written Spanish.
