Copywriter

Newell Brands is searching for a copywriter to join our Content Team and support a diverse portfolio of iconic consumer goods brands including Marmot, Coleman, Graco, Baby Jogger, Crock-Pot, Calphalon, Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Elmer’s, and Yankee Candle, and more.

This role will work with our Commercial Brands (Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Rubbermaid Consumer Storage/Refuse, Quickie). The right candidate for this role is comfortable working independently, can set their own priorities and multitask well, but is also a true collaborator and always open to learn. You must be adaptable and able to switch between voices as you navigate content across brands. You are a creative self-starter who is energized to learn and enjoy a fast-paced and flexible work environment. Experience in ecommerce is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, write, and edit e-commerce content—including product copy, Amazon A+ and WebCollage copy, emails, website content, paid social campaigns, video scripts and moreRefine and deliver on brand promise, tone, voice, and personality Work closely with designers to align copy with visualsWork with producers/project managers and other stakeholders to deliver copy in accordance with business needs and on deadlineDevelop campaign ideas with internal partners for seasonal brand stories Apply SEO best practices to deliver copy optimized by channel Leverage web analytics, customer insights, and user feedback to optimize content impactAdhere to internal, brand, and retailer style guides to maintain content standardsPerforms other tasks as needed

Key Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a proven team contributor with experience in retail, e-commerce, or CPG direct-to-consumerA minimum 3 years of copywriting work experience (portfolio or writing samples requested)Demonstrated integrity and maturity, and a solution-oriented approach to challengesAbility to operate independently given directionAbility to work well with both speed and simplicityInterpersonal savvy; an ability to effectively work with and connect with all levels of employees across multiple functions and geographiesAbility to adapt to various rounds of feedback from multiple stakeholders and pivot accordinglyComfortable presenting in front of various audiences and selling creativeExcellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple priorities and assignments simultaneouslyBA in English or Creative Writing, or relevant work experience Experience in working with Commercial or B2B brands is a plus
