πŸ“‹ Role Overview & Responsibilities

Next Act Theatre is a nonprofit 501(c)3 arts organization established in 1990. The venue includes a 152-seat, three-sided thrust stage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Harbor District, immediately south of the Third Ward. Next Act has six full time staff members, 10 part-time staff members and the company hires, on average, 50 artists for its four yearly live theatre productions.

The Ticket Office Representative is the voice and the face of Next Act Theatre for our patrons. The Representative maintains a professional and pleasant demeanor while providing exemplary customer service in person, by phone, or electronically. The Ticket Office Representative works collaboratively with staff under the supervision of the Ticket Office Manager. The position is part- time, hourly, Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon-5pm (or noon-7:30 pm on evenings when there are shows), as well as Sundays from 12-3pm (only on Sundays when there are performances).

Specific duties:Act as the main customer service representative for the Ticket OfficeProcess telephone, email, mail and walk-up transactions using the Spektrix ticketing systemRespond to emails in a timely and professional mannerAssist patrons with information about performances, policies and amenities, including directions to the theatreHandle sign-ups and date changes for volunteer ushers

Qualifications:Ticket Office and/or sales experience preferredExperience with Spektrix ticketing software preferredCash handling and reconciliation experience preferredExcellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentAttention to detailComputer and data entry skills, including Microsoft OfficeReliable and promptA belief in the value of the arts.
